Blocking by picrotoxin of nigra-evoked inhibition of neurons of ventromedial nucleus of the thalamus.

Abstract

The transmitter substance realeased by nigro-thalamic fibres is proposed to be gamma-aminobutyric acid, since picrotoxin blocked nigra-evoked monosynaptic inhibition of thalamic neurons.
