Cancer and antibiotic resistance are major global health concerns due to high mortality rates, frequent treatment failures, and the development of resistance to conventional therapies. In the proposed research, a multifunctional silver/copper (Ag/Cu) bimetallic metal-organic framework (MOF) is described as a biomedical platform. Its integrity was ensured by structural characterization, and in vitro tests on MCF-7 breast cancer cells showed that the Ag/Cu MOF had intrinsic antitumor activity, with cytotoxicity and cell viability of 33.9% and 66.1%, respectively. The suggested MOF had PCM and CUR drug-loading capacities of 57.7% and 28.9%, respectively, with full release of PCM in 48 h and partial release of 40-60% of CUR in three days. Besides, the Ag/Cu MOF showed potent antimicrobial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Escherichia coli (E. coli), antifungal activity against Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus niger, and high antioxidant activity. These results indicate that the Ag/Cu MOF can serve as a useful multifunctional nanoplatform for drug delivery and other biomedical applications.
