摘要

This study aims to compare the levels of satisfaction, anxiety, and depression among postmastectomy patients with and without breast reconstruction, using validated assessment tools. A cross-sectional analytic study was conducted involving female patients who underwent mastectomy due to breast cancer. Participants were divided into 2 groups: those who had breast reconstruction and those who did not. Satisfaction was measured using the BREAST-Q questionnaire, whereas anxiety and depression were assessed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. Statistical analyses were performed to determine significant differences between the 2 groups. Patients who underwent breast reconstruction reported significantly higher satisfaction scores, especially in terms of body image and psychosocial well-being. Additionally, they exhibited lower levels of anxiety and depression compared with patients who did not undergo reconstruction. Breast reconstruction following mastectomy seems to have a positive impact on patient satisfaction and emotional well-being. These findings highlight the importance of discussing reconstruction options with patients as part of comprehensive postmastectomy care.
