摘要:: Enormous increases are predicted in the global burden of cancer, with the bulk of these cases is expected to occur in low- and middle-income countries like India. This paper outlines the existing scenario of cancer incidence and mortality, health and cancer care facilities, and the status of cancer education in India. Cancer education strategies in tune with future local needs are also discussed with special reference to research related to various aspects of cancer, teaching and training of human resources, and the development of appropriate legislation.
